Our first day on La Digue we took bikes aroud the northern half of the island. Literally, we did about two thirds the circumference of the island. Had to stop only because there was no more rideable trail. A local we talked with said he can make it around the island on foot in 5 hours if he doesn't stop to collect mollusks.
