la digue is so small that we were content to walk the rest after biking to the extreme end on the first day. even that was walkable. most people bike, but there are oxcarts for moving groceries and the occasional tourist. there are about 30 cars on the island, but they don't get in the way so much. nice thing about the whole setup is the great stamped concrete roads. beautiful and they'll last forever because they get so little use.
